Design Thinking is a powerful and creative problem solving process with a human centered focus that enables a broad range of solutions for a problem. Many professionals and companies use design thinking as a way to develop solutions to problems people face in the world. This process helps designers develop the best solution for people. To help students experience this powerful process, Designing 4 Humans is an instructional strategy and planning guide for teachers with support materials for students.
Teachers will learn about Designing 4 Humans, as the instructional practice to engage in design thinking projects with their classes. We will practice using the Design 4 Humans guide by participating in a design thinking project. Participants will then restructure one of their current units to use Designing 4 Humans as the pedagogical tool to teach design thinking.
